Find Accommodation near 'Nene Valley Railway'

The Nene Valley Railway is a standard gauge railway which runs for seven and a half miles between Yarwell Junction and Peterborough in Cambridgeshire. The line was closed by British rail in 1972 after 127 years of service and re-opened in 1977 as a passenger service by the NVR. It is almost entirely operated by volunteers.

Although there is wheelchair access on to the trains at all the stations on the route, Wansford Station is the recommended point to start your journey, as there is designated parking adjacent to the station and more staff on hand to assist with ramps etc.

The return journey to Peterborough and back takes approximately one and half hours with a 15 minute stopover at Peterborough where passengers can view the rolling stock stored at the station.  NB access into the city of Peterborough from the station is via a couple of footbridges.

Most trains will have an accessible carriage attached however it is advisable to check beforehand. For a train time table and a calendar of special event days and lots more information please follow the link to their website
