Find Accommodation near 'Armadale Castle Gardens'

These beautiful gardens are set around the ruins of Armadale Castle on the Sleat Peninsula at the southern end of the Isle of Skye. They are being lovingly and skilfully restored and including the woodland areas they extend to 40 acres. As well as the formal planting there are some magnificent mature specimens of trees underplanted with unusual combinations of woodland flowers.

The gardens are located on a sloping site overlooking the sea and to assist with accessing them more fully a motorised buggy and powered chairs are available to loan. The two waymarked woodland trails are not wheelchair or scooter friendly but there are a series of pathways that are suitable and these include access to a viewpoint where visitors can look across to the mainland. There is also an interpretation plaque, naming the mountains on view, located here.

There is good access into the restaurant and shop near the parking area and the staff members are courteous and informative.

The entrance fee also includes access into the Museum of the Isles which is located in the grounds for further details please click here.

N.B. If you are looking for accommodation nearby there are 3 accessible properties on our search facility for the Isle of Skye but as this is a large Island you will need to extend the radius of the search to 45 miles in order to access their details.
