Rede cottage is nestled in the heart of Traine Farm which lies amongst the beautiful rural Devon Countryside and yet only minutes from the beach. It has been a settled holding since before 1086 and was mentioned in the Domesday Book. Positioned in the South Hams, Traine Farm overlooks the coastal village of Wembury whilst being conveniently located just seven miles from the centre of Plymouth. The cottage makes an ideal base for couples wanting to explore this Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

The cottage has level access and an open plan layout with lounge and fitted kitchen. There is a Double Bedroom and Shower room which are both situated on the ground floor. French windows lead onto a sunny patio area where you can sit, relax and enjoy the views across the countryside to the sea.

The owner’s family have farmed at Traine since 1939, it is still a working farm and you’ll see cattle, sheep, hens, ducks and alpacas. There is sometimes the opportunity to see baby chicks and to collect fresh eggs! There is a trail on the farm from where you might capture a glimpse of badgers in their natural habitat and also a couple of footpaths one of which joins the South West Coastal Path.

The nearby farm shop provides a range of local produce for your enjoyment. Whilst the village of Wembury with its 15th century Parish Church is also home to a Post Office, village shop and ‘The Odd Wheel Inn’ gastro pub. The area has an abundance of wonderful beaches and picturesque villages. Warren Point is approximately 20 minutes’ walk, from which you can catch the ferry across to Newton Ferrers and Noss Mayo. Dartmoor and its National Park is a short distance away along with Plymouth’s excellent shops, restaurants and famous Plymouth Theatre Royal.
