Find Accommodation near 'Coventry Transport Museum'

Coventry Transport Museum is in the city centre and has commercial transport, cars, motorcycles and cycles. It covers a large area with two stories with eleven galleries and starts from the Victorian era to the present day. It also has specialist areas such as the blitz and a 'spirit of speed' gallery. This museum has something for most people and is well worth a visit.

The museum can offer tactile tours for people with visual impairment and learning difficulties, but these must be booked in advance. There are also magnifying boards available to put over literature.

There are designated toilets located by the entrance and also on the first floor, these are part of the Ladies and Gentlemans facilities. Left hand lateral transfer is available in the Gents and right hand in the Ladies. There is also a unisex toilet located on the first floor with right hand lateral transfer and room for a carer.

An evac chair is in place on the 1st floor for emergency use.

Parking for blue badge holders is available on site however this must be booked in advance of your visit.

There is also a simulator for the Thrust supersonic car that holds the world land speed record that can be accessed by lateral transfer from a manual wheelchair. NB powered wheelchairs cannot access this specific attraction, although as an allternative there is a video that can be seen showing the high speed run.

Our researchers found the staff very friendly and helpful and willing to answer questions..
