Back in August we introduced you to the Makin Tracks organisation, for those of you who missed that article I have included a little detail of who they are and what they do for you below! Debbie from the organisation has just been in touch to tell us that their 2012 tour destinations have been launched, so if you have a fancy for Tuscany, Hungary or Andalucia read on......

Full Story

Makin Tracks is an independent, family run business offering inspirational overseas tours for people who are wheelchair users. They have a unique breadth of experience from working in both the travel industry and in care provision. For many years they have combined the two fields, organising holidays with personal attention and adventure.

Dave was an Overseas Tour Manager for the Winged Fellowship Trust (now Vitalise), and Debbie has a degree in Travel and Tourism and 20 years practical experience of escorting groups on overseas and U.K. holidays. Since the Winged Fellowship Overseas holidays (known as New Discovery Holidays) came to an end a few years ago, they had numerous requests from disabled travelling friends to “set something up” and so ‘Makin Tracks’ was born!

Having a thirst for adventure themselves, they are passionate about exploring the world, delving into its history and culture, whilst always being aware of vital down to earth issues, searching out the smoothest wheelchair routes and those elusive accessible toilets.

For all their holidays they use their own accessible mini bus to provide carefully considered programmes of enlightening guided days and nights out. Accessibility issues are carefully researched and imaginatively tackled to enable maximum discovery with minimum frustration. Groups are kept small, generally 8-10 people so they can ensure you receive exceptional personal service.

They are convinced that you will witness more with them in a week than with any other tour, yet the pace will always be set to suit you. So forget your worries over accessibility, and get on with discovering amazing sights, confident in the knowledge that you are in the hands of people who really know their way around.
