That the majority of community transport is available only to those who are resident within the area served by the individual transport and users are often required to become members of the service. Tariffs vary accordingly and contact details for the service providers have been included.
Oswestry Dial a Ride
Membership is required. The area covered is Oswestry & District, Ellesmere & District and the Tanat and Cain Valleys. It is available Mon – Fri 10am – 3pm. The vehicles have a tail lift hoist and a low step and can take up to 4 wheelchairs.

Shrewsbury Dial a Ride
Membership is required (annual fee). The area covered is within a 10 mile radius of Shrewsbury. It is available 8.45am – 4pm Mon – Fri. The vehicles have a tail lift hoist and low step and can take up to 2 wheelchairs.

Church Stretton Ring & Ride

Coping with challenging terrain
The area covered is Dorrington, Wistantow, Munslow and Picklescott and the areas between. It is available Mon- Fri 9am – 5pm. The vehicles have either a low step and tail lift hoist or ramps and take 1 wheelchair at a time. The service operates 4 vehicles.

The 49 Link

The 49 link
Membership is required but there is no annual fee for individuals. The area covered is Craven Arms, Bishops Castle, Clun, Onnibury, Marshbrook and Aston on Clun. Itis available Mon- Fri 9.20am – 2.20pm (extra hours during school holidays). The vehicle has a ramp and can take up to 2 wheelchairs.

Bishops Castle and District Community Transport
The area covered is Bishops Castle and District. Passengers need to ring for availability. The vehicle has a tail lift hoist and a low step. it can take up to 4 wheelchairs.

The Buzzard
Membership is required. The area covered is the Corvedale catchment area and South Shropshire. It is available Mon- Fri and some weekends and also operates set routes see website for details (booking required before 3.30p.m. the day before). The vehicle has a tail lift hoist and low step and can take up to 2 wheelchairs.

Bridgnorth & District Community Transport
Membership is required. The area covered is within Bridgnorth boundary. it is available Mon – Sat (evenings included). The vehicle has a tail lift hoist and low step and can take up to 2 wheelchairs.

The Friendly Transport Service
Membership is required (minimal annual fee). The area covered is within a 5 mile radius of Broseley and Much Wenlock. It operates 7 days a week subject to availability. The vehicle has a tail lift hoist and low step and can take up to 2 wheelchairs.

Albrighton Parish Flyer
No membership required and the service is open to residents within 5 miles of Albrighton. It travels as far afield as Wolverhampton and Telford (at least 48 hours advanced booking needed). It is available Tues – Sat 9am – 5pm. The vehicle has a tail lift hoist and can take up to 2 wheelchairs.

Membership is required. It covers the Telford Urban area, and is available Mon – Fri 9.40am – 1.50pm and 4pm – 5.30pm and Sat 9.40 am – 2.30 pm. The vehicle has a tail lift hoist and can take up to 3 wheelchairs.

North Shropshire Community Transport
There is a bus and car service. No membership is required for the scheduled bus service but membership is required for other services. The area covered is Whitchurch, Wem, Market Drayton and Moreton Say. It is available Mon – Fri. The bus has a tail lift hoist and can take up to 2 wheelchairs. The car has ramps and can take 1 wheelchair.

A trip to Stans Supermarket in St Martins
Membership is required. The area covered is Wem, Whitchurch, Welshampton and Prees. the service operates designated routes on certain weekdays but is available at other times on request. The vehicle has a tail lift hoist and low step and can take up to 4 wheelchairs. There is also a taxi service available for further details.

The British Red Cross Transport Service

The service is available to anyone who needs transport assistance particularly those who live on their own and older people. The service offers freedom and independence for people who cannot get about easily or use public transport. If your journey is a complicated one, They can also help planning it e.g. outside of county. A driver with a private car (for those who can transfer) or for those who need to remain in their wheelchair, an especially adapted vehicle can be arranged (subject to availability).
A contribution based on mileage used is normally requested. This is a national Red Cross service and for Shropshire the contact details are as follows:-
